Bob James

Bob James

Managing Director

Bob James studied Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering in 1984 and has a career spanning Rolls Royce PLC, British Airways and General Electric. He is a highly regarded professional in his field having presented at many industry conferences, undertaken expert witness activity and having previously co-founded an engine management, sales and leasing company, sold to DVB Bank SE in July 2007.

Mr James is renowned for his passion for the aviation business and his entrepreneurial leadership style. Establishing AerFin Limited in September 2010 and selling an 80% interest to CarVal Investors in December 2014, Mr James has brought access to significant capital and market reach which strategically positions the AerFin business for continued growth with shareholder interest very much aligned. The business specializes in providing end of life solutions for investors, MROs and airlines exposed to technically challenging assets and includes spare engine, airframe and engine material supply chain solutions.

Auvinash Narayen

Auvinash Narayen

Head of Acquisitions and Leasing

Auvinash Narayen is an experienced engineer, having previously worked for Air Mauritius and a global aircraft engine consultancy services provider engaged in the acquisition and leasing of aircraft engines. A fluent French speaker, Mr Narayen progressed from maintenance engineering into asset management, trading and leasing having held various positions including responsibility for managing an Airbus asset management active fleet portfolio.

Mr Narayen has undertaken various roles including deal origination, engine leasing and business development across a broad product range of mid thrust and large fan engines. Mr Narayen has extensive knowledge of modern power plants and an established MRO network. His responsibilities within AerFin are origination, contract negotiation and management.

Steven Ades

Steven Ades

Financial Controller

Steven Ades FCCA Is a certified chartered accountant, who joined AerFin in 2010 at its inception. Prior to working at AerFin he headed up the finance function for entities in both the travel industry and bespoke software industry. Mr Ades has managed the finance function of the business through a period of rapid growth, which included the sale of a majority equity stake to CarVal Investors in December 2014.

Steven has primary responsibility for all aspects of financial control, P&L, cash-flow management and reporting within the business. He also manages IT systems and has strategic responsibility for business planning and acquisition funding. During his career at AerFin Steven has benefitted from Industry specific exposure allowing him to develop financial tools for evaluating maintenance costs on new engine programs, and develop modelling techniques for the acquisition of aircraft and engines.

Christopher Hooley

Christopher Hooley

Director – Airframe Division

Christopher Hooley holds a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) having gained extensive experience in the aviation industry during his 25 year tenure at British Midland (BMI). His career at the airline covered a wide range of senior positions within Engineering, including technical records, reliability, production planning and control and more latterly as General Manager – Commercial & Supply Chain. In 2006 Christopher left BMI to establish Airline Services Components Limited (ASC) holding the position of Managing Director and was instrumental in the collaboration with AerFin which lead to the eventual acquisition of the business assets of ASC.

Mr Hooley is now a senior member of the AerFin team in the position of Director - Airframe Division, responsible for all aspects of the London Gatwick operation covering Stores, Logistics, MRO, Contract Management and Sales relating to Airframe Components whilst maintaining close liaison and ensuring functional integration with the Bedwas team. 

Anthony Stilwell

Anthony Stilwell

Director - Regional Sales and Operations

After leaving military service in 1990 Anthony Stilwell has successfully managed various commercial and leadership positions within aviation. Anthony joined Field Aviation Accessories in a customer support role within the MRO environment covering military, commercial and helicopter platforms. Anthony then progressed to a management position in Sales and Marketing and relocated to the Midlands in the UK to assist in the establishment of a start-up parts business, whilst continuing the day to day management of Operations and Sales.

Mr Stilwell was a founding member and instrumental in the creation of ASC in the capacity of Director, covering sales and all day-to-day operations. Anthony joined AerFin in September 2015 through the acquisition of ASC bringing extensive commercial knowledge across civil and military platforms, including helicopters. As the Director – Regional Sales and Operations he is responsible for Sales in the Asia Pacific region and manages the Operations team at AerFin's Gatwick facility and warehouse..

Nicholas Filce

Nicholas Filce

Director - Regional Sales & MRO

Nicholas Filce is a member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply and has extensive experience in Component Management. Having worked for Dan-Air in Tech Records & Planning Nicholas moved to the Logistics Department managing both Airline and third party rotable requirements. After FLS Aerospace acquired the Engineering division he continued his career in Component Management and eventually moved to AJW where Nick helped develop the MRO division. In 2000 Nicholas was promoted to the AJW Board of Directors and represented the company commercially worldwide.

Nicholas was a founding member of Airline Services Components (ASC) in 2006 as Head of Sales.

Mr Filce joined AerFin in September 2015 through the acquisition of ASC bringing extensive component management and sales experience. As the Director – Regional Sales and MRO management he is responsible for MRO sales and airframe component repair. 

Mark Kelsey

Mark Kelsey

Head of Sales

Mark Kelsey holds a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) and has extensive experience in operations management successfully implementing the (TPS) Teleflex Production System, as well as direct sales experience and sales organization management. He began his career in aerospace engine component repair at Airfoil Technologies International (ATI) a GE / Teleflex joint venture company. His 25 year career at ATI provided Mark with the opportunity to transition from production into direct sales and management roles predominantly in EMEA, before moving to a sales and marketing role in the USA. Mark moved to Dunlop Aircraft Tyres for a relatively short period as General Sales Manager managing a team of RSM's supporting the UK and USA operations before joining ASC in 2011 as Head of Sales.

Mr Kelsey joined AerFin in September 2015 through the acquisition of ASC bringing a wealth of experience in operations management and sales. As Head of Sales at AerFin's Gatwick facility he is responsible for global sales across airframe components.

 

Richard Jowett

VP Purchasing and Programs

Over the past 27 years Richard Jowett has gained extensive experience within the airline, MRO and aviation parts trading business. Richard started his career with BMI in engineering finance before moving to the supply chain. He later joined Arik Air as Head of Supply Chain with responsibility for all engineering and technical support contracts whilst often deputising for the Director of Engineering. More recently Richard was the General Manager for ASC and was responsible for day-to- day management of operations in Gatwick, covering sales, contracts, repair management, stores & logistics.

Mr Jowett joined AerFin in September 2015 through the acquisition of ASC bringing a wealth of experience across civil aviation. As VP Purchasing and Programs he now supports the Origination & Acquisition team on purchasing aircraft and spares, whilst managing the Contracts Department responsible for all aircraft PBH and CPAL contracts.      

Robbie Robson

Robbie Robson

Technical Asset Manager

Robbie Robson holds a BSc (Hons) in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering and served for 31 years within the RAF both as an aircraft maintenance engineer and flying ground engineer on multi-engine transport aircraft with sole engineering responsibility. 

He joined AerFin in March 2015 having spent several years with a global aircraft engine consultancy providing airline fleet management and engine lease returns for a leading lessor. 

Mr Robson’s primary responsibility is to manage the technical team that supports the business on evaluation of aircraft and engine acquisitions, sales team queries, due diligence on deliveries and the management of aircraft and engines on lease prior to induction for teardown.

Sean Bowden

Sean Bowden

VP Operations

Sean Bowden MCQI CQP joined AerFin in 2012 after serving 22 years in the Royal Air Force as an Aircraft Mechanical Trade Manager, assuming responsibility for personnel, quality and procedures.

Since joining AerFin, Mr Bowden has held a number of roles within the Technical Services Team before assuming the role of Quality Manager responsible for implementation and maintenance of quality standards across the organisation, including ASA-100, AS9100, AS9120 and EASA 145.

John Christian

John Christian

Technical Operations Manager

John Christian joined AerFin in May 2012, after 30 years in the military, as an aircraft engineer. During this time he gained a wealth of experience, knowledge and technical skills on a range of aircraft and engines.

Mr Christian is primarily responsible for the Technical Management of AerFin acquisitions. Working closely with the commercial team, providing on site representation during aircraft deliveries and managing all aspects of the technical acceptance process of both aircraft and engines.

Martin Matthews

Project Manager

Martin Matthews came to AerFin with a wealth of prior engineering experience gained from the military and more latterly having spent six years managing aircraft and engine lease returns, shop visit management and the technical aspects of lease contracts for a major lessor within a consultancy organization.

Mr Matthews maintains primary responsibility for all technical aquistions, lease returns, due diligence and records management within AerFin.

Toby Clouston

Toby Clouston

Legal Counsel

Toby Clouston was admitted as a solicitor in England & Wales in 2008.  Prior to joining AerFin in June 2016, he worked for top tier, London based, international law firms as well as being seconded to a leading aircraft engine leasing company. Mr Clouston has extensive legal experience in the commercial and corporate aviation finance, leasing and trading sectors and has worked for a wide range of aviation lenders, lessors, operators and aviation service providers across various asset types. 

As AerFin's legal counsel, Mr Clouston works closely with AerFin's airframe and engine divisions and their origination, leasing and PBH, consignment, component support and consultancy teams throughout each deal cycle. Mr Clouston oversees general legal matters for the AerFin group and also manages risk, compliance and company secretarial functions and sits within AerFin's management team.

James Bennett

James Bennett

Director – Sales and Marketing

James has a career spanning over 16 years in the aviation industry including senior commercial and sales and marketing positions within a leading engine consultancy services business, a rapidly growing aerospace and electronics parts manufacturer and Chromalloy, the worldwide manufacturing and repair services provider of gas turbine engine parts. With extensive experience in an engine and MRO environment, including 8 years in Thailand leading sales and customer services, James has a demonstrable track record having held responsibility for securing high value long term agreements with such clients as key airlines including China Airlines and Korean Airlines. During his career he has been able to form strong OEM relationships, particularly with Rolls Royce where he held the commercial lead in securing the first Trent 1000 & XWB repairs outside of the RR network.  

Fluent in Spanish, James joined AerFin in July 2016 as a senior member of the management team and is responsible for group sales and marketing (airframe and engines).
