The Sunday Times Virgin Fast Track 100 has named AerFin as the fastest-growing firm in the UK. This is the company's second year on the list, having been ranked sixth in 2016. The league table ranks Britain’s top 100 private companies with the fastest-growing sales over the last three years. It is compiled by Fast Track and published in The Sunday Times each December, with an awards event the following May.
It is a tremendous honour to have received this recognition from the Sunday Times Virgin Fast Track 100. The primary and driving focus in our business has always been to serve our clients. By focusing on meeting their needs better than anyone else, we have seen exponential growth. Bob James, AerFin CEO
Caerphilly-based AerFin supports aircraft operators and lessors by providing a range of services, offering leasing contracts, technical consulting, trading and supply of equipment from entire aircraft through to components and engines. Over the past three years, AerFin has seen strong financial success, with its sales growing by an average Annual Sales Rise of 231% to reach a turnover of USD $82 million for the financial year ending 2016.
AerFin recently agreed to the purchase of an entire fleet of 15 Embraer E-Jets from Saudi Arabian Airlines. In turn, this allowed it to create a completely new aftermarket for the E-Jet. It recently signed a seven-year agreement to support BA CityFlyer’s fleet of 20 Embraer E-Jets, via its “Beyond Pool” support programme. “Beyond Pool” offers a fixed-cost solution for all of BA CityFlyer’s E-Jet component requirements and will be fully supported out of AerFin’s main distribution base at London Gatwick. This base in Gatwick has provided significant employment opportunity for workers, as have their other work locations in Caerphilly, Latin America and Singapore.
It is the first time since the award’s inception in 1997 that a Welsh firm has been ranked in the top spot. Earlier this year the company was also named by The Sunday Times HSBC International Track 200 as Britain’s fastest-growing mid-market company by way of international sales, and as the fastest-growing indigenous business in Wales, by the Wales Fast Growth 50 initiative.
Bob James, CEO, AerFin, commented, “It is a tremendous honour to have received this recognition from the Sunday Times Virgin Fast Track 100. The primary and driving focus in our business has always been to serve our clients. By focusing on meeting their needs better than anyone else, we have seen exponential growth.”
“I would like to thank our employees, our partners, our investors, and of course, our clients,” James added. “We are looking forward to taking AerFin even further in 2018 and beyond. The success of our new services, such as the Beyond Pool support programme, and the growing rates of employment across our regional and global offices, are indicative of how our business is expanding and gaining more momentum internationally.”
