The challenge

Cathay Pacific is ranked the 5th best airline in the world. It offers its customers impeccable service with a well-maintained, modern fleet of Airbus 330s, 350s and Boeing 777s. They needed a solutions provider with experience of repair management and teardowns that they could trust to efficiently manage the phase-out of their entire fleet of 11 A340-300 aircraft.

Our way ahead

We’re experts in fleet phase-outs and effective and efficient disassembly and component management. We began by using our blend of technical and commercial expertise and experience to conduct a thorough analysis of Cathay Pacific’s fleet. Then at our CAA, EASA and FAA approved MRO facilities, valuable components were stripped from the A340-300s for repair, recycling and repurposing, and returned to the remainder of the Cathay fleet.

The outcome

We created a solution that optimised operational flexibility, whilst maximising the residual value of aircraft assets. Based on our experience and demonstrated routes-to-market, we were appointed to manage the entire phase-out and delivered the commercially and operationally successful result.
