How we helped AK Structures get their repair venture off the ground

The challenge

AK Structures (AKS) had ambitions to set up CF34-8 inlet cowl repair capabilities to support airlines across the USA. But they faced significant challenges: no stock and no partners to place inlet cowls while the repair capabilities were being set up. They needed a partner they could depend on to provide the parts and trust to support their new venture.

Our way ahead

With 229,000 engine parts globally available, we quickly provided the first inlet cowls to AKS for repair and facilitated the setup of their MRO capabilities. We believe in strong relationships built on mutual trust and respect, so our team was able to give AKS the necessary time and flexibility they needed to overcome obstacles and our team were happy to support AKS through their various challenges, including end-user demands and regulatory approvals.

The outcome

With the MRO capabilities now in place, our CF34-8 inlet cowls are successfully supporting AKS’s programme with end-users in the USA. Our partnership approach has enabled AKS to offer reliable support to their customers and has already led to other opportunities where we can collaborate.
