The challenge

With the continued delays to new aircraft deliveries, our airline customer was facing capital-intensive engine shop visits to extend the operational life of their fleets and meet growing passenger demand. They needed a faster, more cost-effective alternative than working directly with conventional MRO facilities.

Our way ahead

Our EASA/CAA & FAA 145 approved facilities have carried out over 290 Engine MRO Lite services to date. We began by demonstrating our agility and responsiveness by building the airline a bespoke sunset support structure that included a green time and spare engine supply programme. We also provided nose-to-tail airframe component support that utilised the customer’s retired assets to support the remainder of the fleet. By integrating our own engine portfolio into the customer’s existing stock, we were also able to create a more cost-effective, fully flexible exchange schedule.

The outcome

By outsourcing engine resource and MRO management to us, the airline customer’s existing fleet was given a faster, more cost-effective life extension and the airline could continue to meet schedules despite delays in the introduction of its new fleet. The residual value of our customer’s run out engines were maximised by leveraging our extensive routes to market, supporting additional cost savings across the programme.
