The challenge

Saudia, the national flag carrier of Saudi Arabia, has been named the region’s fastest growing airline and ‘The world’s most improved airline’ three years in a row. To continue their rapid trajectory, they needed to phase out their 15 E170 LR E-Jets over a specified time period and modernise their fleet. Few solutions providers had the technical know-how and resources to purchase and tear-down a fleet this size.

Our way ahead

We showed our conviction to get the job done – demonstrating the benefits of our financial resources, flexibility and capability, regional service and global reach. By opening a satellite workshop in Jeddah and siting technical and logistics experts on site, we offered a solution to oversee the teardown, package up the assets and ship them back to the UK.

The outcome

As the largest non-OEM stockist of E-Jet inventory, we were able to acquire all 15 of Saudia’s E-Jets, tools, parts and supporting equipment. This allowed Saudia to smoothly migrate to their new fleet and continue to improve their performance and grow.
