AerFin has been awarded a Board of Trade Award for its outstanding contribution to International Trade, recognising the company’s efforts in international exports in the aerospace industry. Awarded by the Department for International Trade (DIT), AerFin is one of just eight companies within the UK to receive the accolade.
The UK Board of Trade champions exports, inward investment and outward direct investment to deliver economic growth and prosperity across the whole of the United Kingdom. The judging panel was particularly impressed with AerFin’s extraordinary growth trajectory, and the innovation and economic benefits it has brought to Wales and the local region.
“AerFin exemplifies what the Board of Trade Awards stand for – excellence in international trade. Led by Bob James OBE, the business has demonstrated a truly innovative approach to opening international markets. This has created hundreds of jobs and brought millions of pounds into the local area. “This growth has seen AerFin enter regions including the US, Asia-Pacific and Africa, with over 80% of its turnover a result of overseas sales. This is remarkable achievement for a company that was founded just eight years ago. My international economic department looks forward seeing what the future holds for this ambitious company.” Said Dr Liam Fox on presenting the award
On receiving the award, AerFin CEO, Bob James OBE, said:
“I am delighted to accept this award in recognition of AerFin’s tremendous period of growth. Importantly, we as a company have still maintained our core USP of being a services support provider with a strong technical focus. This is only possible through our engineering expertise, innovative approach and the hard work and dedication of our team”.
This award is the latest in AerFin’s impressive list of accolades from the past twelve months. Last year, AerFin was announced as the fastest-growing private UK company by the Sunday Times FastTrack 100, having risen from sixth place in 2016. The Sunday Times HSBC International Track 200 also named AerFin as Britain’s fastest-growing mid-market company by way of international sales, while the Wales Fast Growth 50 initiative named AerFin the fastest-growing indigenous business in Wales.
Earlier this year, the Financial Times named AerFin as Europe’s fastest-growing aerospace and defence company, and 23rd fastest-growing European company overall.
